Revamp your wardrobe

Thursday 22nd July

Trends are always changing and trying to keep up with the latest look can leave you with a very empty purse. But don’t fret chiconomistas we’re going to let you in on a secret, there’s plenty of easy ways to keep your wardrobe up-to-date, and best of all they cost next to nothing!

Customising your wardrobe is fun and simple to do. Here are 10 great customising tips to get you started…

1) Sewing shoulder pads into a jacket will give it a new edge. Buy them here: http://www.abakhanco.uk

2) Alternatively use a stitch-unpick and remove shoulder pads from old jackets, giving them a new lease of life.

3) New buttons can instantly revive a tired looking ensemble, try big gold buttons on blazers for a chic nautical look.

4) Need a new going out outfit? Sequins will become your new best friend; simply sew onto old dresses for instant glam.   Try JosyRose Haberdashery for bits’n’bobs

5) Ill-fitting jeans? Cut them up to create cute casual shorts for summer.

6) If shorts aren’t your thing, why not rip your jeans for a rock chic look.

7) Revamp skirts and dresses by simply taking up the hem.

8) Give tie dye a try. No longer just for hippies tie dye looks great on oversized tees.

9) Decorate plain t-shirts with fabric paint.

10) Got some pretty fabric that can’t be salvaged? Cut shapes out of it and stitch it to an existing outfit.
