I have spent more time on trains over these past few days then I can ever remember. In the space of a week, I have literally covered more miles then I normally do in a year.  I have travelled for business, for pleasure and for a mixture of the two. I have missed trains, been way to early on trains and even fell asleep on one, missing my stop.

It got me thinking. What is the reward for all this travelling? Is this one of the only sectors that don’t seem to reward us for customer loyalty? Will there ever be such a thing as ‘rail miles’ were each mile I travel earns me a treat or even more miles to ’spend’ (um, not sure that is a treat but you know what I mean).

They have a scheme like this in France which seems to do really well so maybe it’s time for us to copy. I for one would sign up straight away…
