Getting a good exfoliator is the key to perfect skin. Use a non abrasive one once per day in the shower, or if you’re skin is particularly sensitive use a slightly softer one once to twice per week. Watch the amount you use, as it can be an easy trap to fall into, never use too much as you can overscrub your face. Also watch heavily chemical based products, these can irritate. These are our favourites:
Sensitive skin:
Korres Pomegranate Scrub, £14.00
This has a beautiful scent, and uses a number of naturally derived extracts to create the perfect exfoliator. The beads are made of ground olive stones, whilst Calendula and aloe soothe the skin.
Combination skin:
Aveda Tourmaline Charged Exfoliating Cleanser, £18.11
This is a fabulous all round exfoliator. A little goes a long way, and is perfect for most skins. The beads are jojoba and they really do remove all impurities, whilst mango butter soothes.
Oily skin:
The Body Shop, Seaweed Pore-Cleansing Facial Exfoliator, £7.30
This is great for those who experience common breakouts and have an excess of sebum in their skin. It would be too drying for sensitive skins, and it is advised to use this about three times per week.
Mask lovers:
Yes To Carrots Exfoliating and Soothing Mud Mask, £8.80
This is a great once a week treat. If you fancy a facial but can’t get to a spa then definitely try this little pot of wonder. It’s packed with skin loving ingredients including avocado and Dead Sea Mud.
Intense exfoliating:
Olay Regenerist Microdermabrasion and Mini Peel Kit, £24.46
This is for those who really need to give their skin a boost. It can be used up to twice a week, and can help renew the appearance of the skin. It’s particularly good for helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines.
