Boots Original Beauty Formula

Vintage loveliness from our favourite chemist. Products don't get better than this, skin loving and fab packaging

With all the other cosmetic giants harping on about ‘futuristic skincare’ and ‘developed in association with NASA’, Boots has gone back to its roots to celebrate it’s 160th birthday. The new range of lotions and potions are bottled in vintage packaging and wouldn’t look amiss on a Victorian lady’s dresser.

Using traditional ingredients including lavender, rose, sage and bergamot, the classic products provide all you need for body, bath and face. Ranging from between £4.89 and £12.23, it’s retro beauty at charming prices.

This deep cleansing cream is a traditional formula that has been resurrected from the archives (and our memories). Infused with calming rose oil and enriched with beeswax, it simply lifts and sweeps away impurities and make-up without drying the skin.

With the heady scent of lavender, this would be best applied after a bath and before bed, to make best use of its sleep-inducing properties. You can rest assured you’ll wake up the next morning with skin like Cleopatra’s.

Indulgent bath oil is always a favourite of the worn out chiconomista’s working in our office. This bath oil with calming Moroccan rose and moisturising almond oil has a clever formulation that turns milky on contact with water leaving skin smooth, fragrant and nourished.

This lip salve will rescue dry chapped lips and deliver a delicious pout. With its velvety smooth texture, you’ll be applying this even when your lips don’t feel dry.

We’re not usually that into toners but this one really did make our skin positively radiant. It contains rose essential oil and glycerin to make your skin super smooth and soft, as well as quenching parched skin.

It can be tricky to find a cleanser that is both effective and moisturizing. But this one is perfection. The consistency is light, it removes all make up and leaves the skin feeling really clean and soft.
