1. The shoes: It is very easy to overpack on the shoe front. But you need to ask yourself what your plans are for your holiday and what the weather will be like. I would always suggest wearing your sandals in before heading off, because even though you feel that you ought to ‘save’ them, blisters are never a good look.
What to pack:
· 1 x flip flops
· 1 x pump
· 1 x strappy heels/wedge
2. The tops: Opt for laidback basics that don’t cost the earth, then you won’t mind if they get damaged whilst you’re away. Make sure you have a pretty patterned or silk top, this will be a perfect piece for evenings and lunches out. It’s also worth having a cover up for cool evenings and a t-shirt to hide any sunburn.
What to pack:
· 3 x vest tops
· 1 x t-shirt
· 1 x cardigan
· 1 x printed top
3. The bottoms: It is so easy to overpack especially on the bottom half. But you really don’t need to take that many pieces. A pretty skirt whether it’s maxi or short will double for beach and bar, a pair of shorts are great for walking about the city in, and if you find the evenings a little nippy make sure you have a pair of light coloured jeans or cut offs.
What to pack:
· 1 x skirt
· 1 x shorts
· 1 x jeans/cut offs
4. Beach glamour: I would recommend packing a beach dress, a kaftan and two bikinis for the beach. If you choose an embellished kaftan then you can wear it as a dress or over your jeans. A light beach dress is great for breakfasting in, and it’s best to always have two well fitting bikinis so you can avoid dodgy tan lines.
What to pack:
· 1 x beach dress/jumpsuit
· 1 x kaftan
· 2 x bikini
5. Added extras: There are of course the extra bits you just can’t do without and shouldn’t.
What to pack:
· 1 x straw beach bag (can double as inflight bag)
· 1 x across body bag (perfect for shopping)
· 2 x sunglasses (bring your main pair and a cheap pair)
· 1 x sun hat
· 1 x statement necklace
