With the warm weather in full effect, it is time to take advantage of the gorgeous beaches found right here in the UK.
For such a small town, Padstow, which is located in north Cornwall, offers up a surprising amount of fun activities for young and old alike.
Foodies should flock to Padstow. Celebrity chef Rick Stein practically owns the town, lulling over residents and tourists with his delectable seafood dishes. He owns several restaurants in town, including the aptly titled Seafood Restaurant with rave reviews pouring in from travel guides across the country.
Some find the menu prices at the Seafood Restaurant hard to digest. If that’s the case, head over to Stein’s Fish and Chips, where you can fill your belly with a Stein favourite without emptying your wallet entirely.
Stein also runs several delightful Bed and Breakfasts in town, which specialise in the comforts of home. Crisp white linen and towels, powerful showerheads, and a bathroom fit for a queen, you’ll never want to leave.
Rooms range in price from around £130 a night, to upwards of £270. Reservations can be made by calling 01841 532700 or emailing [email protected].
Interested in learning more about Padstow? Stop by the quaint Padstow Museum and soak up all the local culture. Or, if you’re looking for a little more adventure, visit the Eden Project, which is a global garden filled with inspiring art and architecture all captured in the beauty of nature. The Eden Project is also a concert venue. Check their website at www.edenproject.com to see which events coincide with your trip.
And let’s not forget the main reason for coming to Padstow – the amazing beaches. Campers should head to Polzeath, which is a bit further down the coast. Hire a surfboard and learn how to ride the waves. Or why not try sailing or windsurfing? Shop in the quaint shops or enjoy an ice cream in one of the delightful beachside cafes.
Padstow is a perfect place to enjoy a city break. Whether camping outside or indulging in one of the luxurious bed and breakfasts, make sure visiting Padstow is on your summer to-do list.
